When our fellows leave Alief, they take Alief with them! In just five years, AliefVotes alumni have landed at some of the best schools in the country. Oyindamola Akintola and Emaan Syed are both at Harvard, Azeemah Sadiq is at Stanford as a QuestBridge and Alexander Hamilton Scholar after founding GenVote Alief right here at home, Susan Tran is at Johns Hopkins, Hanna Pinang is at Vanderbilt, Edgar Euceda is studying at George Washington University in the heart of D.C., and Mujeebat Gbolahan is at Pomona College, where she somehow still finds time to serve as Vice Chair of our Board. And so many more are shining right here in Texas!

Terry Scholar Kosi Toussaint and Plan II Honors student Moyinoluwa Ajayi, who already has Google and KPMG on her resume, are carrying the Alief flag at UT Austin, with fellow alums thriving at UT San Antonio, the University of Houston, the University of North Texas, and Houston Christian University. The schools are only half the story, though, because what our alums are doing is even more exciting than where they're doing it. They've interned at Harris County Precinct 4 and Houston City Council District F, represented UNICEF USA on the national stage, launched non-profits like CareFor2 and Pulse Health, published their writing and research, and earned everything from salutatorian titles to CITGO Distinguished Scholarships along the way. Our favorite part is that they keep coming back! Alumni sit on our board, run our programs, and mentor the next wave of Alief students, because leadership grown here stays rooted here. We are so excited to see where the next wave of students end up—they may very well be soon representing us here in Alief in Congress, City Hall, and in our state legislature.
